When you think of Thanksgiving time the first thing that comes to your mind probably isn't running, it’s more like full bellies, lots of turkey, and family time. However some people look forward to something a little more exciting. This year will be Wichita’s 48th Annual Honeysuckle White Wichita Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 18 offering multiple fun activities for all ages. The Turkey Trot offers a series of races throughout the morning including a 10 mile race, 2 mile race, and a Tiny Turkey Trot for kids six and under. There will also be multiple vendors towards the finish line where racers and supporters can shop and eat when they’re done.

The race will begin by the historic Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center and will take you through the streets of Wichita past iconic skyline landmarks such as the 44 ft steel sculpture of the Keeper of the Plains, the Wichita Boathouse, and many small businesses spread throughout the downtown area. When racers cross the finish line they will receive a Turkey Trot medal that is uniquely designed every year, and most importantly the first 2,300 people to register will receive a Honeysuckle White Turkey coupon worth up to $35!

The Wichita Turkey Trot also proudly supports the Kansas Food Bank. On packet pickup day or race day, you can donate money or jars of peanut butter to support local Kansans this season! They will also be accepting the Honeysuckle White coupons if turkey isn’t on your Thanksgiving day menu.

  • Packet pick up days will be Friday, November 17 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m and Saturday, November 18 beginning at 6:30 a.m. at Century II Exhibition Hall. The 10-mile will start at 7:45 am with the 2-mile starting at 8:10 am and kids 250’ Tiny Turkey Trot starting at 10 am. The start/finish line of all the races is on Douglas just in front of Century II. For 10-mile runners there will be a time limit of 3 hours on the course. All links for the event are listed below.
