Trunk-or-Treat on Main Street

Written by: Madison Farrell

As teenagers grow up Halloween becomes less and less exciting, no more trick-or-treating, no more free candy, and less opportunities to dress up. Most teenagers grow out of the trick-or-treating phase in high school, but that doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy the holiday in other ways. Teenagers often resort to watching a scary movie inside or eating delicious fall treats like candy apples but this year Eisenhower is offering something new.

This Saturday Eisenhower High School’s Law Club is putting on a Trunk-or-Treat event in Goddard. Students inside and outside the club are able to sign-up and decorate their car with different themes and styles to create a fun booth for kids and families to enjoy. They can transform their car from anything to a miniature pumpkin patch to a scene from their favorite movie. Students are also encouraged to dress up to match the theme of the car. This is a great opportunity for teenagers to forget about all of the worries that come with being a high school student and just enjoy a night having fun and feel like a kid again.

For the Goddard community this is a great way to come together and have a fun night enjoying the fall weather on Main Street. Families from the entire Goddard Area are invited to bring their kids to trick or treat at each car and enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers when they are done. The club hopes to bring the whole community together to enjoy an event that is fun for all ages.

The event will be held on Goddard Main St. from 4pm- 9pm. Any student wanting to decorate their car can fill out the “Sign up to help” link below. All are welcome and don’t forget to visit Ike Media’s car while you’re there.
