5 Events to Attend this Fall in Wichita

1. Fall Prairie Fire Marathon is a marathon that will take place at 650 E 2nd st. Wichita KS 67202. They use MyLap chips and your race number will be your chip number. $40 fees include shirts, race fees, medals, drinks, food and pictures. All runners will receive their running photos via online. This will occur on October 8th, 2023 at 7:30 AM. Stretch and do whatever it takes to win! 


2. Wild lights is an event where you can watch Asian lantern sculptures light up in the Sedgwick county zoo. It is from 6pm to 9pm on October 11th through December 17th. Admission is $17, discounts are available.  Save $4 by buying tickets early. Schedule VIP cart guides to drive around. Each tour is limited to 10 people. Come by and enjoy the beautiful light show! 


3. Hay, Hooves and Halloween is a halloween party. Bring your halloween costumes and enjoy the music, dancing and snacks. Headless horsemen, zombies, and ghosts haunt the historic buildings. This will be located in the Old Cowtown museum. Saturday, October 21st to Sunday, October 22. It will be from 2 to 8 p.m. 


4. Halloween Spooktacular at Naftzger Park will be an event where you can trick or treat. There will be vendors with mermaid face paint and henna tattoos. There will be a halloween costume contest and the winner will win a $300 value mermaid makeover and photoshoot. Mark your calendars for October 29th, 4pm to 10pm. 


5. Boofest is an event where you can challenge your friends to Halloween themed games. Trick or treat through the museum. Talk a walk through an old fashioned cupcake walk. There will be liquid nitrogen ice cream and karaoke. There will also be a bunch of activities you can engage in. It will be on October 14th, 5:30pm to 7:30pm at The Exploration Place. Come down and have a blast!
